Temporary Local Rule

Preferred lies

On closely mown sections of the general area (fairway), a player may mark their ball, lift, clean and replace within a card-length, not nearer the hole.  The ball MUST be marked before lifting.  This relief is not available in the rough, in penalty areas, on the putting green.

Note: The following temporary local rule has been adopted based on advice from the R&A and Golf NSW:

Preferred Lies in Bunkers

All rakes have been removed from Thurgoona Golf Course. Players are entitled to take a 30cm preferred lie within bunkers no nearer the hole. Please try and smooth the playing surface with your feet or club when exiting the bunker.
