Due to the predicted rainfall this weekend the 2017 Murray Masters has unfortunately been cancelled. This will mean our course will now be open to members on Saturday for competition and social play. We will be holding Stableford Medley events on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. For those who have already booked in at Howlong or Corowa, these clubs will still be offering our members comp fee only to play in their comp. We will be offering the same to Howlong and Corowa members on Friday and Sunday.

Murray Masters Participants,

We have received a severe weather warning for the North East Victoria and Southern NSW region commencing tomorrow (100mm-200mm of rain).  It is most likely that this will result in play being abandoned for at least two of three rounds.  As such the committee has made the decision to cancel this year’s event.  This is not a decision taken lightly as we know the impact that this will have on all of the players who travel and look forward to this event each year.  This however is the best option for all involved to ensure players safety.

Due to the logistics of running such a big event it is not possible to reschedule it.  We understand that quite a lot of players have already committed to travel or are already here and those that are here we hope to be able to play some golf either early on Friday or on Sunday obviously weather permitting.  If you have booked holidays or a committed to a trip away please still come on the understanding that there won’t be a lot of golf played, but as usual the hospitality and camaraderie of the Masters will be on show, just inside the Clubhouse this time!  Please be aware of SES road warning depending on where you are travelling from and don’t travel if you feel it is unsafe.

The Murray Masters Event has been running for a decade and has never had to be postponed or cancelled due to weather and it is certainly very disappointing for the clubs and the volunteers involved in this event.

Please keep in mind the opportunity to get involved in the Top of the Murray Event on the 18th to 20th May 2018.
