Preferred Lies – Effective June 11th 2025

The golf committee wishes to advise that Preferred Lies will be permitted THROUGH THE GREEN – effective from June 11th 2025.

The committee acknowledges the fantastic condition of the playing surface being presented by the grounds maintenance team for this time of the year. Work to control Kikuyu grass has left some areas with little cover for the winter and the weekend’s rain has resulted in soft and muddy conditions in these areas. As such the increased chance of mud adhering to the ball,  requires the opportunity to lift, clean and replace. Mud on the ball creates an unpredictable flight and unfair playing conditions therefore the committee in conjunction with the Dean Lewis and the Pro shop has made the decision to implement Preferred Lies THROUGH THE GREEN.
