Premier League – Wardrobe World Cup (WWC)
Round 1 is done and dusted, with some big results.  Week 1 was the Truman Show, with the Spray N Wipes carding a first up win on the back of a great round of 42 points from Truman Addison.  This big win over new team Jug A Naut sees the Spray n Wipes lead the ladder.
Angry Aardvarks managed a W against an undermanned Drawshanks, despite having to carry their Captain who again failed to hit the scoreboard.
Cockatoos posted a 4-pointer, putting fellow newcomers Huntingdale Heroes to the sword, with first-timers Greg O’Brien and Dave McLeish leading the way.
Our first draw of the season was played out between Norfolk & Chance and That’s a Dollar, with WWC virgins Steve Orman and Geoff Fisher posting good scores for their respective teams.
3 Putts managed to craft a victory over the Outcasts, with a 98-95 score line.  Bob Toal managed a solid 37 for the Outcasts, but the 3 Putts were too consistent, led by a 36 pointer from Shane Franz.
The battle of the experienced teams, Hosel Rockets 2.0 and Horace’s Heroes proved to be a bit one-sided with the boys from Hosel Rockets cashing in on their star off-season signing, Lochie Semmler (41 points), to take an easy win from Round 1.
Round 2 is this Saturday (Aug 3), and will start to show some form lines for the season.  Hosel Rockets 2.0 take on the sartorially splendid Angry Aardvarks, while. Horace’s Heroes will be looking for a bounce-back win against Norfolk & Chance.
Drawshank Redemptions will be looking to post a win against the cagey Cockatoos, and the Outcasts will face off against That’s a Dollar.
Jug A Naut will be better for the run last week, and likely to take it up to Huntingdale Heroes in Round 2.
Last match of the round will see ladder leaders Spray N Wipes battle with 3 Putts, which could result in a new ladder leader after this round.
A quick note to remind that Round 3 is on 17 August, as we have a week off for Monthly Medal in between.  Check the Golf Premier League website for the dates of all future rounds.
Good luck to all contenders – it is early days, but the point all add up.  So be sure to put your best foot forward and get your team scores up.  Don’t be afraid to have a little chirp, either – all is fair in WWC so take every edge you can get.  Have fun!
Cheers
