Thank you Blue Brigade – NSW Senior Open 2019

I really do not know where to start – what an amazing week, what a wonderful event, what a fantastic group of people that I all consider my friends.

I must say a big thank you, before I go on, to my wonderful wife Veronica.  Her effort in helping to bring this event and all of these people together has been amazing.  It could not happen without her.

I know it has been said already, but I am immensely proud of the outstanding team effort from each and every one of our Blue Brigade for 2019.  You have all made such a wonderful contribution to the event, and have helped to make it an extraordinarily memorable occasion.

In some very challenging conditions, with all manner of weather to contend with, you were exceptional.  There were no gripes or complaints, just a wonderful willingness to help and to make a fantastic event possible.  Thank you.

We had a great champion this year, in our winner Brad Burns, and I know he is keen to come back and defend (even if it is just to win a bet to make us all wear QLD Maroon the following year).  Congratulations to him on an outstanding performance.

We must acknowledge the great foresight and support of Michael Coffey OAM and Liverpool Catholic Club.  Their willingness to drive (and fund) this event has created a great experience for us all.  Adam Fitzgerald and Dean Lewis have produced a fantastic environment in the club and on the golf course, in which we can all take great pride as members of Thurgoona Country Golf Club Resort.

On behalf of Veronica and I, please accept our most sincere and heartfelt thanks.  This is simply a lovely community of friends and golfers, and I know it will be even bigger and better in 2020.  Applications are open. 😃
