You’ll notice an additional column entitled “Time” on your MiClub scorecards for individual events. The time displayed shows the time that you should be teeing off that particular hole in order to keep to our pace of 4hr10min. Should the actual time be later than that shown your group is behind pace and should play ready golf until you catch up. We ask each group to remain aware of their pace relative to our pace of play guidelines. By saving just 90 seconds per hole you can shave 30 minutes off your round of golf!
Some things that you can do to help improve pace:
1. Be ready to hit when it’s your turn and move quickly between shots. Upon completion of a hole proceed directly to the next tee box and begin teeing off. Mark previous hole scores while other members in your group are hitting off.
2. Play a provisional ball should there by any doubt as to whether you may be able to find your original ball.
3. Practice continuous putting as etiquette allows (ie you won’t be stepping on someone else’s line of putt).
4. Always place your bag or cart on the side of the green nearest the next tee box so you can proceed directly off the green to the next teeing ground.
5. Don’t spend your full five minutes looking for a lost ball.
6. Ready golf means that, when safe to do so, proceed to your ball and play your shot (whether you are the furthest from the hole or not). On the teeing ground, the person ready to play their tee shot should step up and do so regardless of who has “the honour”.
By following these guidelines and being aware of your group’s position relative to pace (not to the group behind you) we can ensure that everyone has the chance to enjoy their round. Thanks for your efforts to maintain our pace of play. Should you have any questions or would like more suggestions on playing to pace please see the pro shop staff or members of the golf committee.
