As we head into the heart of winter a couple of things to keep in mind during your round of golf:

Quick, proper repair of pitch marks is vital to maintain the quality of our greens.  At this time of year, a pitch mark not fixed (or fixed incorrectly) can take 6-8 weeks to heal since turf growth is so slow at this time of year.  That means that the effort spent now to fix your pitch marks (and any others you see!) will mean better putting surfaces heading into the warmer weather of spring.  Please do your part.

Cart users please keep the carts in the rough to prevent rapid deterioration of the fairways.  I think everyone has experienced the better condition of the fairways this year over last (or compared to other clubs in the region).  In order to maintain as good a playing surface as possible, please keep your carts in the rough at all times.  In addition, please carry a sand bucket to your ball to fill your divot after your shot.  By following these steps, we can keep our course playing as well as possible through the winter season.

Thanks for your cooperation.
