Golf\u2019s international governing bodies are the R&A and the United States Golf Association.\u00a0 They, in consultation with Golf Australia, are working on two major initiatives that will directly impact all Australian golfers \u2013 a modernisation of the Rules of Golf, and a World Handicap System.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The R&A and USGA are conducting internet surveys on these two subjects.\u00a0 The two internet surveys are available from\u00a0<\/span>www.golf.org.au\/have-your-say<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0 Each survey can be completed in about 10 minutes.\u00a0 In addition, a pop-up message promoting these surveys will be presented to all users of the Golf Australia website (<\/span>www.golf.org.au<\/span><\/a>) for a two-week period commencing Monday 24 July.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

We would encourage as many Australian club administrators and golfers as possible to do these surveys.\u00a0 Responses to the handicapping survey will be very helpful in informing Golf Australia’s ultimate position on the World Handicap System.\u00a0 Note that questions in the handicapping survey will identify whether the response is being provided by an administrator or a player.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

We would also encourage you to promote these surveys directly to your members \u2013 this is their chance to have their say on these two important topics.<\/b><\/span>\u00a0 It would be best to do this promotion before 7 August in order to ensure all responses receive appropriate consideration by the R&A, USGA, and Golf Australia.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
