Division 2 \u2013 Scratch Pennant Champions!<\/b><\/div>\n

After a stellar season, Thurgoona are the 2019 Division 2 Scratch Pennant Champions.\u00a0 Undefeated throughout the home and away series, the Division 2 side finished the job with a 3\/2 win over Yarrawonga at Commercial Albury on Sunday, April 28.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
It was a tight tussle, with result in doubt well into the afternoon.<\/div>\n

It has been a wonderful team effort throughout the year, culminating in another flag for Thurgoona.\u00a0 In addition to the above, we were wonderfully served throughout the season by our Captain, Danial Huggard, as well as Bryan Filliponi, Richard Quinn and Gary Davies.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
There are quite a few special thanks to be made, after the wonderful support we have received throughout the year, including:<\/div>\n

Danial Huggard \u2013 his fantastic leadership was invaluable throughout the season.<\/div>\n
Simon Hoppe & the Division 1 team \u2013 their support was greatly appreciated<\/div>\n
Caddies \u2013 we were lucky to have a number of caddies and supporters turn out for the final to help our team over the line.<\/div>\n
MDGA & NEDGA \u2013 The competition has grown in strength in the past 3 years, and will continue to improve going forward, with more teams and playing opportunities across the District<\/div>\n
Thurgoona Country Club Resort \u2013 Adam and the team have been great supporters of Pennant at Thurgoona for many years, and we appreciate their contribution to the continued success of the Pennant teams.<\/div>\n
Veronica Lane \u2013 There are a good number of great photos to be shared, with thanks to Veronica for her time throughout the Final.<\/div>\n
Penny Graeber \u2013 We thank Penny for all of her efforts in coordinating our Junior MDGA team, including some great young golfers from Thurgoona<\/div>\n
Commercial Albury Golf Club \u2013 The final venue proved to be a fair and decent test, and was presented well in the conditions.<\/div>\n
Yarrawonga Golf Club \u2013 We have faced off against the teams from Yarrawonga a number of times in recent years, and the matches are always played in great spirit.\u00a0 They are a fantastic bunch of blokes and they play the game as gentlemen.\u00a0 I am sure they\u2019ll be back for another crack next year.<\/div>\n

Congratulations to everyone involved in coordinating and playing Pennant for Thurgoona this year.\u00a0 I look forward to a strong Handicap and Masters Pennant series later in the year, and then another crack at Scratch glory in 2020.\u00a0 Go Thurgoona!<\/div>\n
