Oh, how the mighty have fallen\u2026\u2026..\u00a0 Round 3 saw 2 of our 3 ladder leaders suffer their first defeat.\u00a0 Demonstrating the closeness of the competition this year, we also had a nail-biting draw.<\/p>\n
In Pool A we saw Grip n Sip<\/strong> roll over the Back 9 Bandits<\/strong> 103-96.\u00a0 Chronic Fatigue<\/strong> notched their first win over the Angry Aardvarks<\/strong>, 106-96, and the reigning premier Cockatoos<\/strong> were too good for the crew from Drawshank Redemption<\/strong> 106-86.<\/p>\n Notable performances included a huge 41 points from Luke Anstee, who must surely be catching the eye of the handicapper based on recent form, and a stellar 38 from Fuzz Lyon.\u00a0 It seems I put the Kiss of Death on Will Nicholls last week, as he could only manage to eek out 19 points in his teams victory.<\/p>\n In Pool B, round 2 ladder leaders Par Then Bar<\/strong> got steamrolled by the 3 Non-Johns<\/strong>, 93-106.\u00a0 It seems a bit of a rev up was all that Justin Trudeau and his teammates needed.\u00a0 Questions were asked of the Par then Bar team, though, as they were chirpy before the match, but disappeared quickly after their loss.\u00a0 Perhaps a name change is in order\u2026 Par then Bus?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n In a fairly even competition across the Pool, only JT – Justin Trudeau – stood above the rest, with a fine 38 points to fire up the 3 Non-Johns.<\/p>\n RUMOUR FILE:<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 A little birdie may have told me that a certain Non-John, Dipper Delmenico, may have had a cheeky little 4-putt on the weekend.\u00a0 It was apparently very quiet afterwards, until one of his teammates reminded him \u201cThat\u2019s a Jug!\u201d.\u00a0 Perhaps Dipper is angling for a spot in the mid-season draft and a move over to the Jug-A-Nauts?\u00a0 Who dobbed in the Dipper?\u00a0 As always, my journalistic integrity prevents me from revealing my sources\u2026\u00a0 It could have been any Tom, Bick, or Harry\u2026..<\/p>\n The honeymoon continues for Par Tee Time<\/strong> in their first season, with a 98-93 win over they luckless Jug A Nauts<\/strong>.\u00a0 Jumping clear on the ladder, the team from 40 Over<\/strong> notched another win 95-71 against the languishing Jugheads<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Pool C action proved to be tighter this week.\u00a0 Hosel Rockets<\/strong> got home against the Wuhan Warriors<\/strong>, 96-87.\u00a0 The crew from Lynch Mob<\/strong> are up and about this year, and they bested Who\u2019s Ya Caddy<\/strong> 109-101 to stay on top of the Pool C ladder.\u00a0 But the thriller of the week was a 95-95 draw between Why Knots Untangled?<\/strong> and Squirrel Nation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Denise Sellwood tried valiantly to post a team W with a personal 37 in heavy conditions, but the support was lacking and the agonising draw resulted.\u00a0 Great scores from Captain Scott Lynch (38) and Ethan Lewis (35) helped their respective teams to victory.<\/p>\n Here is a look at the ladders after Round 3 (attached).\u00a0 At the time of writing, there may still be some errors on the GPL website that are awaiting correction.\u00a0<\/p>\n Round 4 is this weekend.\u00a0 Stay tuned for some preview content before the weekend.<\/p>\n Cheers,<\/p>\n Laney<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Oh, how the mighty have fallen\u2026\u2026..\u00a0 Round 3 saw 2 of our 3 ladder leaders suffer their first defeat.\u00a0 Demonstrating the closeness of the competition this year, we also had a nail-biting draw.
